Net4Connect Launches 4Vision: Streaming Any Video Feed Directly Into Smart Glasses
Net4Connect has launched 4Vision, a new solution that streams HDMI and DisplayPort video feeds directly into Vuzix smart glasses — giving professionals in medicine, manufacturing, and field operations a hands-free, heads-up view of their equipment output for the first time.

Across industries, skilled professionals share the same frustration: they need to see what their equipment sees, but the screen is never where their eyes need to be. Surgeons glance away from the patient to check an endoscope monitor. Inspectors in confined spaces juggle a borescope probe with one hand and a display with the other. QC technicians spend hours hunched over microscope screens.
4Vision solves this by placing the video feed from any HDMI or DisplayPort device directly into the user's line of sight through Vuzix M400 or M4000 smart glasses. A compact InHand EC942 edge computer handles the encoding and streaming — plug in the video source, put on the glasses, and the feed appears in your eye. Both hands stay on the job. Eyes stay on the work.
Built from a real surgical need
The product originated from a direct request. A veterinary surgeon approached Net4Connect asking whether it was possible to stream the output from their medical endoscope into smart glasses during procedures, rather than looking away from the animal to check a wall-mounted monitor.
Net4Connect's team built a working solution, tested it in practice, and has now developed it into a full production product available in three configurations: a software-only package for customers who already own Vuzix glasses (£950 + VAT), a complete M400 kit (£2,500 + VAT), and a complete M4000 kit with see-through waveguide display (£3,500 + VAT). All options are a one-time purchase with no ongoing licence fees.
Applications across industries
While 4Vision was born in veterinary medicine, the applications extend to any profession where an operator needs to view a video feed while keeping their hands free:
Veterinary and human surgery
— endoscope, ultrasound, and microscope feeds viewed in the surgeon's eyeline during procedures
Industrial inspection and NDT
— borescope and videoscope feeds viewed hands-free at height, in confined spaces, or inside machinery
Manufacturing quality control
— HDMI microscope camera output viewed with natural posture, eliminating ergonomic strain
Thermal imaging and electrical work
— thermal camera feeds viewed while both hands remain free for tools and probes
Broadcast and film
— camera and gimbal operators monitoring shots in-eye while maintaining situational awareness
Automotive and aerospace
— diagnostic and inspection feeds viewed without stepping away from the engine or vehicle
No subscription model
4Vision is sold as a one-time purchase with no ongoing software licence. The only optional recurring cost is £150 per year for Vuzix device management and cellular connectivity — useful for remote deployments and fleet management, but entirely optional.
